About The Position

The Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is seeking a Marketing and Sales Coordinator. This full-time position reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager and Events & Activations Manager. The role involves supporting hotel events and activations through content creation and social media coverage, developing and managing social media content calendars, and creating engaging content for various platforms. The coordinator will also monitor social media channels, stay updated on trends, track performance, research partnership opportunities, assist in marketing campaigns, create marketing collateral using Canva, maintain the digital asset library, and provide administrative support to the Marketing & Events department. Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma preferred
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing business social media accounts.
  • Strong photography, videography, and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in Canva required.
  • Experience using Meta Business Suite and Later
  • Basic photo and video editing skills required.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to analyze social media metrics and translate insights into recommendations.
  • Must be fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) considered an asset.
  • Hospitality, tourism, luxury, or lifestyle brand experience considered an asset.
  • Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support hotel events and activations through content creation and live social media coverage before, during, and after events.
  • Develop and manage social media content calendars across hotel property, dining venues, events, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Create, capture, and publish engaging photo, video, graphic, and written content for social media channels, ensuring alignment with Fairmont brand standards and voice.
  • Monitor social media channels and online reputation platforms, engaging with audiences and responding to inquiries and guest feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging content opportunities to drive engagement and brand awareness.
  • Track and report on social media and campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Research and support influencer, creator, media, and partnership opportunities that align with hotel objectives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, promotions, and seasonal initiatives.
  • Create marketing collateral using Canva, including digital advertisements, invitations, signage, menus, and promotional materials.
  • Maintain and organize the hotel's digital asset library, including photography, video, and creative files.
  • Coordinate internal communications related to marketing initiatives and social media campaigns.
  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing & Events department as required.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required to support events, content creation, and social media coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
