A major objective is to identify and implement ways to generate more qualified leads and applications with limited incremental marketing investment. The consultant will help Minerva University establish a clearer understanding of lead sources, channel/campaign/audience/message effectiveness, student funnel drop-off points, investment outcomes, data/measurement/attribution gaps, lead generation strategies without increased spend, and strategic marketing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and executive communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and quickly in a consulting environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education, education technology, student recruitment, or another complex acquisition environment
  • Experience marketing to prospective students or other high-consideration audiences
  • Experience with international or multi-market marketing
  • Experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, Search Console, or similar platforms
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization
  • Experience with content strategy and digital audience development
  • Familiarity with AI-driven search and emerging search behavior
  • Experience conducting competitive digital marketing audits
  • Consulting or agency experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive but focused assessment of Minerva's marketing and enrollment funnel, including strategy, channel mix, campaign performance, audience segmentation, lead generation and quality, application and enrollment conversion, historical performance, marketing spend, reporting, KPIs, attribution methodologies, data sources, data quality, tracking, attribution, measurement gaps, agency/vendor/technology relationships, and identify high-impact opportunities and sources of leakage or inefficiency.
  • Serve as Minerva's dedicated researcher, source of external marketing intelligence, and marketing implementer by researching, analyzing, and implementing competitor digital marketing strategies, positioning, messaging, search visibility, keyword opportunities, search trends, prospective-student behavior, emerging digital marketing channels, audience trends, market and geographic opportunities, content strategies, SEO/AEO opportunities, relevant changes in digital marketing technology and practices, and higher education/broader consumer acquisition trends. Develop clear insights about market changes and recommend strategic adjustments.
  • Analyze marketing performance by examining lead generation, lead quality, application generation, conversion rates, cost per lead/application, channel performance, campaign performance, audience performance, geographic/market performance, website and landing-page behavior, search performance, and historical trends. Use analytics and reporting tools to identify patterns, opportunities, and areas for further investigation, answering 'Why is this happening? What does it mean? And what should we do about it?'
  • Identify opportunities to increase leads and applications without simply increasing marketing spend, such as improving organic search performance, capturing unmet search demand, improving website conversion, developing new content opportunities, improving campaign targeting, refining audience segmentation, optimizing existing campaigns, improving messaging and positioning, re-engaging historical prospects, developing referral or partnership opportunities, identifying underutilized acquisition channels, and improving the connection between Marketing, Enrollment, and Admissions. Recommendations should be practical, prioritized, and grounded in evidence.
  • Synthesize research, data, and market intelligence into clear recommendations for Minerva leadership, answering questions about current observations, their significance, competitor actions, prospective student behavior, underperformance areas, opportunities, testing suggestions, actions to stop/continue/increase, and cost-effective growth strategies. Recommendations should enable clear strategic decisions.
  • Develop concise, compelling presentations and reports that turn research and analysis into actionable implementation. Regularly present findings to relevant teams, explaining key findings, supporting data, market trends, competitive insights, opportunities, risks, recommended actions, and suggested priorities.
