About The Position

As a Market Sales Coordinator, you will support Strategic Account Managers and Market Sales Managers by being a dedicated point of contact for orders, sourcing, logistics and account coordination. You will work closely with these assigned Managers on contract terms, pricing and fulfillment. Your primary focus is on capturing rental equipment orders and fulfillment but will also participate in activities that support building customer trust, retention and promoting UR total value proposition. You will do so in a manner that supports customer advocacy and United Rentals revenue growth for all business units. Your overall objective is to deliver the highest possible levels of order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. In your capacity as a Sales Manager at United Rentals, you will be responsible for overseeing Strategic Account Managers within a designated market or metropolitan area to generate additional profitable rental revenue for all business units. You will lead the Strategic Account Manager team and focus on customer advocacy, PCU customer service, and major projects and vertical sales opportunities that require collaboration across all business units to deliver the company's full range of products and services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 3 years of customer service experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Solid computer skills and knowledge of most current business software
  • Independent worker and self-starter with strong self-imposed structure
  • Knowledge of equipment rental industry, Total Control, ERP systems, and pricing for rates, freight, and overtime
  • Ability to multi-task and interact with customers via phone, email, text or web
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of successful sales experience, with at least one year in a sales management role; experience with an assigned account portfolio required
  • Knowledge and prior experience with a wide range of rental equipment products and applications, preferably
  • High level of SFDC expertise, basic computer skills (Outlook, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across all business units, with an emphasis on negotiation, promoting teamwork, and conflict resolution
  • Strong analytical skills; metrics-oriented
  • Valid driver’s license and a proven driving record
  • 75% field travel, typically within the assigned market(s)

Responsibilities

  • Constantly capture and execute customer orders with a high degree of urgency
  • Work with Inside Sales Reps from all business units in the market, actively source equipment, arrange transportation, and develop orders accurately across all UR general rental and Specialty branches
  • Provide customers viable, well thought-out equipment alternatives if certain equipment is not available
  • Maintain high familiarity and skill within UR One, UR Control, Total Control, mobile apps and Sales Force
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to increase profitability and expand customer equipment mix
  • Provide equipment, on-rent, and invoice level reporting to customers as requested or scheduled
  • Respond to and diffuse customer objections
  • Monitor customer feedback surveys and interject as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Direct Strategic Account Managers in the assigned market(s)
  • Lead the training and development of Strategic Account Managers, ensuring they have fundamental product and application expertise across all UR solutions and are proficient in all aspects of customer advocacy and the single point of contact role
  • Evaluate potential accounts to add or remove from a Strategic Account Manager’s assigned portfolio and ensure they are prospecting new accounts
  • Evaluate revenue expectations, history, and opportunities for assigned accounts
  • Work closely with all business units’ DSMs, DMs, BMs, RPDMs, NAMs/DNAs, RSMDs to ensure strategic accounts have a single point of contact, receive superior customer service, and needs are met with the full range of products and services
  • Other duties as assigned as needed
