About The Position

Assists CML with audits of wellness departments in communities to ensure regulatory compliance. Will assist with delegation in the communities. Engages in ongoing personal development in geriatric care and leadership skills. Will provide state required education as required by DHS. Ensures CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct are adhered to at all times. Ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPPA policies at all times. Helps maintain a positive, respectful, and support environment for all residents, staff, families, and community guests. Coaches and supports Wellness leaders in their professional growth. Encourages teamwork and supports open communication and collaborative problem solving. Leads by example. Actively protects resident and staff safety by recognizing, reporting, and taking immediate action to minimize risk of accident or injury. Observes for any signs of resident abuse or neglect and takes immediate action to prevent harm. Helps ensure timely state reporting when applicable. Ensures all infection control guidelines are met and appropriate tracking and surveillance procedures are followed according to community and state requirements. Participates in designated cluster calls, in person cluster meetings and other market calls as deemed necessary. Will maintain knowledge of current assisted living regulations. Will help communities maintain compliance with company policies/procedures, pharmacy policies/procedures, and state and federal agency regulations. Assist in mentoring of wellness leaders in communities. As needed, will provide education to staff in communities. Will complete community audits to ensure completion of resident evaluations, service plans, monthly summaries, and others listed per Pinnacle Clinical Standards. Responds promptly and appropriately to market leaders as well as community leaders. Will perform community visits at least every other month (more often if needed) with a face to face exit with the ED/WD as well as written report to cluster partners, ML and CML after each visit. With appropriate follow up the next visit. Medication card audits at least quarterly, sooner if deemed necessary. Assist cluster with mock survey yearly. Will assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of delegation. Understand all applicable laws, rules and regulations that affect the delegation process and ensure compliance within the community. Complies with the Five Rights of Delegation to be sure that any delegation is: the right task, under the right circumstances, to the right person, with the right directions and communication, and under the right supervision and evaluation. Determine when and what to delegate based on the community setting, the residents’ needs and condition, the state/jurisdiction’s provisions for delegation, and the community policies and procedures regarding delegating a specific responsibility. Ensure staff have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and competency to accept any delegation. Responsible for planning, scheduling and conducting training and education specific to the delegated responsibilities for unlicensed staff. Evaluate competency of unlicensed staff for each delegated task on a continuous basis. Observe and teach infection control, safety, and resident rights policies and processes as they relate to the respective delegated tasks. Continually assesses the training program to validate the approved program is being implemented. Maintains current education records of classes and in-services conducted, to include attendance and performance of each attendee. Partners with WD/ED to evaluate the delegation process to ensure compliance. Promotes a positive culture and work environment for delegation. Performs additional duties, within scope of practice, as necessary. Maintains valid licenses/certifications as requested by state and federal regulatory bodies. Any other duties assigned by CML/ML.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in assisted living or health care
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English Language
  • Must meet minimum age requirements established by the state regulations governing the communities
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Must be able to obtain criminal history clearance
  • Must comply with all training requirements
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Must be in good standing with the state and federal government
  • Have an obligation to inform your supervisor if you are on any government exclusion list
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Ability to be calm and levelheaded in emergencies
  • Well groomed, professional and possess ability to work harmoniously with other personnel
  • Follows written and oral instructions
  • Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing resident care practices
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computers, email, spreadsheets and document word processing
  • Maintenance patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as ability to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
  • Ability to travel for training and work-related activities
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must possess and maintain a clean driving record with no major violations
