Market Leader (Manager) Trainee
About The Position
The Market Leader Trainee is a retail sales leadership role in a fast-paced environment. After completing an in-depth training program that typically lasts 12 months, the Market Leader typically leads 8–10 Area Leaders responsible for approximately 100–150 stores. The role assists and counsels Area Leaders and Store Operators, including store managers and franchisees, in daily store operations to maximize sales and gross profit. It is a key change-agent position in a dynamic, evolving business. A company vehicle is provided for business use upon appointment to take over a market. Career paths may lead in a variety of directions within the company.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of related experience, including P&L responsibility.
- Experience with multi-unit management for both company-operated and franchise operations: 100–150 small-box stores or 15–50 big-box stores.
- Strong experience with retail merchandising.
- Ability to travel within the assigned region, including overnight travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Ability to relocate as needed for the role.
Nice To Haves
- MBA preferred.
- Retail merchandising experience in the convenience-store and foodservice industries preferred.
- Previous multi-unit management experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Staff, train, and supervise Area Leaders.
- Assist and counsel Area Leaders and Store Operators in the daily operations of their stores.
- Help maximize sales and gross profit across the assigned stores.
