About The Position

J.P. Morgan Asset Management is seeking a Market Insights Research Analyst to support their Global Market Strategists in conducting macroeconomic and capital market research. The role emphasizes a passion for economics and financial markets, with a particular focus on the Canadian political landscape, economy, and capital markets. The ideal candidate will possess superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to take initiative and execute tasks independently with attention to detail.

Requirements

Fluency in English and Canadian French.
A demonstrated passion for economics and financial markets.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and style.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet or other commonly used data sources.
Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance or related major. Liberal arts majors considered.

Nice To Haves

Three years of work experience in financial services preferred.
CFA candidate or desire to pursue advanced degree/designation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct research focused on Canada, including owning the monthly production of the Canada Economic & Market Update (in English and Canadian French) and a weekly Canada economic brief.
Conduct research on the broader global economy and capital markets, including authoring the Weekly Market Recap and assisting in the daily production of the U.S. Guide to the Markets.
Present the team's outlook on the global economy and capital markets, including providing written responses to client and sales force questions, presenting updates internally, and recording short-form videos for social media.
Support Global Market Strategists on specific research initiatives, working closely with the lead Global Market Strategist for Canada and conducting independent research and analysis.
