About The Position

Flair Packaging is seeking a motivated Market Development Associate to join our dynamic sales team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with 0-2 years of experience who are eager to launch a career in B2B sales within the flexible packaging industry. The Market Development Associate will participate in a comprehensive sales training program, focusing on packaging solutions, sales techniques, market analysis, and CRM systems. Key responsibilities include identifying and qualifying prospective customers, generating sales opportunities, supporting customer engagement and relationship-building initiatives, and providing sales and marketing support. The role also involves monitoring market trends, gathering market intelligence, and achieving performance metrics. This position offers a clear advancement path into roles such as Market Coordinator, Account Manager, or Sales Representative, with exposure to senior leadership and ongoing mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in Packaging Science, Food Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Communications, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in B2B sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Highly motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured sales training program covering packaging solutions, sales techniques, market analysis, and CRM systems.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the flexible packaging industry, customer applications, and manufacturing processes.
  • Learn consultative selling strategies and customer relationship management best practices.
  • Identify, research, and qualify prospective customers through outbound outreach, networking, and market research.
  • Generate and develop sales opportunities within targeted market segments.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Assist with customer communications, product inquiries, and quote preparation.
  • Support account development activities and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Participate in customer visits and presentations alongside experienced sales professionals.
  • Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including customer service, operations, graphics, and production to support customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and opportunities within the CRM system.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
  • Identify emerging markets and growth opportunities.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the sales team.
  • Achieve established activity metrics, including prospecting calls, meetings scheduled, and lead generation goals.
