About The Position

GridBeyond is seeking a knowledgeable Energy Market Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role is critical for leading operational activity in energy markets, analyzing market trends, evaluating policy impacts, and providing actionable insights that support strategic initiatives and client objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the ISEM energy market and an interest in the energy transition, battery technologies, and distributed generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in energy market analysis, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and technological advancements in battery storage and distributed generation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Python, R, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of energy markets, including electricity, renewable energy, and ancillary services.
  • Monitor and evaluate market trends and regulatory developments affecting energy transition, battery storage, and distributed generation.
  • Develop and manage a multi-year strategy for the company in Capacity Markets (prompt and future markets).
  • Coordinate registration and entry for new assets into the Capacity and Ancillary Services.
  • Analyze the growth and impact of distributed energy resources (DERs) on local and regional energy markets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the integration of distributed generation systems, including solar, wind, and combined heat and power (CHP), supporting market entry for customers.
  • Engage with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and clients to discuss market insights and potential implications for energy strategies.
  • Lead company interactions in relevant Industry Associations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and workshops to share expertise and network with other professionals.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and technologies in the energy sector, particularly related to energy transition and storage solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative strategies and solutions to address emerging energy challenges.
  • Contribute to the company’s ESG deliverables and annual targets.
