About The Position

GridBeyond is a green tech energy scale-up company focused on delivering a global zero-carbon future. We leverage AI to innovate and create value from renewable energy generation, demand, and storage. We are seeking a knowledgeable Energy Market Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will understand the ISEM energy market, with an interest in the energy transition, battery technologies, and distributed generation. This role is critical for leading our operational activity in these markets, analyzing market trends, evaluating policy impacts, and providing actionable insights that support our strategic initiatives and client objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in energy market analysis, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and technological advancements in battery storage and distributed generation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Python, R, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of energy markets, including electricity, renewable energy, and ancillary services.
  • Monitor and evaluate market trends, and regulatory developments affecting energy transition, battery storage, and distributed generation.
  • Develop and manage multi-year strategy for company in Capacity Markets prompt and future markets.
  • Co-ordinate registration and entry for new assets into the Capacity and Ancillary Services.
  • Analyze the growth and impact of distributed energy resources (DERs) on local and regional energy markets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the integration of distributed generation systems, including solar, wind, and combined heat and power (CHP), supporting market entry for our customers.
  • Engage with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and clients to discuss market insights and potential implications for energy strategies.
  • Lead the company interactions in relevant Industry Associations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and workshops to share expertise and network with other professionals.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and technologies in the energy sector, particularly related to energy transition and storage solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative strategies and solutions to address emerging energy challenges.
  • Contribute to the company’s ESG deliverables and annual targets.
