About The Position
Brock University is seeking Marker-Grader positions for the Fall D2 term. These positions are paid according to the qualifications of the employee, with rates ranging from $19.00/hour for First Year Complete to $36.00/hour for Master’s Degree Complete. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. Marker-graders may also be asked to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases. The Collective Agreement governs these part-time positions.
Requirements
- Proven competency in the subject area.
- A minimum of 80% in the course being applied for (or equivalent).
- An overall average of 80%.
- Excellent English Language Skills.
- Academic Integrity and Professionalism.
- Proven track record of working effectively and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience would be an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
- Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
- Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
