The Marine Technician diagnoses repair needs and performs designated repairs on company and customer-owned marine propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, generators, and related vessel systems. This role involves troubleshooting, notifying the Service Manager of outstanding issues, and completing tasks with limited supervision. The technician is expected to demonstrate strong technical, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous self-development. Responsibilities include verifying findings, reviewing gauge readings, comparing procedures to manufactured specifications, installing, replacing, rebuilding, or repairing parts and equipment according to specifications, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The role may require responding to after-hour emergency calls, testing parts/equipment, performing quality checks, and completing required paperwork. Basic computer skills and good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, along with a clean driving record and current driver's license.
