About The Position

The Wakestream Marine Service and Support Specialist is a detail-oriented, service-focused team member responsible for delivering exceptional, “Five-Star” hospitality and maintaining the interior presentation and readiness of marine vessels for a private family and their guests. This position combines high-touch food and beverage service, vessel interior care, provisioning, guest support, and general marine operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible, discreet, and enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment where exceptional service and attention to detail are essential. While primarily based in West Michigan, the Service and Support Specialist will be required to travel domestically and internationally based on Family and operational needs. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to accommodate seasonal demands, Family schedules, travel, and staffing needs. This position will regularly require evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Domestic and international travel will be required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of professional food and beverage, hospitality, or high-touch guest service experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper table etiquette, food and beverage service, and entertaining protocols.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining vessels and guest spaces to “Five-Star” standards.
  • Strong service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and provide proactive, thoughtful support.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn marine terminology, vessel operations, and service standards and obtain required credentials and certifications.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, flexibility, dependability, discretion, sound judgment, and the highest level of integrity.
  • Professional, neat, and polished appearance with a willingness to wear required uniforms.
  • Positive attitude and genuine pride in delivering exceptional service.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and safely operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with applicable laws and Company requirements.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended schedules during peak seasons.
  • Must wear appropriate employer-provided uniforms and safety equipment as required.
  • Must successfully complete required training and obtain applicable certifications or credentials.
  • The Family’s privacy is of critical importance. This position requires the highest level of discretion and confidentiality regarding all personal, business, operational, and security-related matters involving the Family, their guests, properties, vessels, schedules, movements, and communications. Employees must comply with all confidentiality requirements and execute applicable confidentiality agreements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in marine service, yachting, or boat maintenance is highly desired.
  • Previous housekeeping, luxury hospitality, automotive detailing, or boat detailing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, discreet, and professional service to the Family and their guests aboard various marine vessels, including cocktail, food, and dining service.
  • Anticipate Family and guest needs and proactively support provisioning, vessel preparation, and service requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of Family and guest food, beverage, and service preferences and assist in ensuring those preferences are consistently incorporated into the guest experience.
  • Demonstrate and maintain proper table etiquette, food and beverage service standards, and entertaining protocols.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional, polished, and service-oriented presence with the Family and guests at all times.
  • Maintain vessel interiors to exceptional standards through regular cleaning, detailing, organization, and preparation, including common areas, guest spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, and service areas.
  • Ensure vessels are consistently maintained in pristine, organized, and guest-ready condition.
  • Develop and maintain the marine skills necessary to assist with vessel, vehicle, and equipment care, including washing, cleaning, detailing, and inventory management.
  • Organize, maintain, purchase, and properly store provisions, inventory, supplies, and other items needed for daily operations and scheduled trips.
  • Assist with exterior vessel cleaning and preparation as needed.
  • Maintain marine facilities, vehicles, storage areas, dockage, staff housing, and related properties to established standards.
  • Promptly report maintenance concerns, damage, equipment issues, or other operational needs to the appropriate Captain and/or Service and Support Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Wakestream Marine team to provide a safe, clean, organized, and enjoyable experience for the Family and guests aboard all vessels.
  • Provide support for assigned trips, deliveries, events, transportation needs, and special projects as requested.
  • Maintain knowledge of the location and proper use of safety equipment aboard each vessel and promptly communicate safety or equipment needs to the appropriate Captain or Service and Support Manager.
  • Maintain open, professional communication and work collaboratively with all members of the Wakestream Marine team and other Family staff.
  • Participate in job-related training and maintain required certifications and credentials, including First Aid/CPR and other marine-related training as requested.
  • Maintain the service, safety, appearance, and operational standards established by Wakestream Marine leadership.
  • Serve as a resource to other Service and Support team members and provide lead coverage when the Service and Support Manager is unavailable.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
