About The Position

River Valley Marine is hiring an experienced Marine Parts & Service Advisor to join their award-winning dealership in Red Wing, Minnesota. This role is for someone who enjoys customer service and the technical side of boating. The advisor will work with customers on repairs, maintenance, marine parts, accessories, seasonal service, and other needs to keep them enjoying their time on the water. Experience from the marine industry, automotive, RV, powersports, heavy equipment, agriculture, or another dealership environment is welcome, with a focus on strong customer service, dealership knowledge, and a passion for boating.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a dealership parts or service environment is required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to explain technical information in a way customers understand.
  • Comfortable recommending repairs, maintenance, parts, accessories, and seasonal services.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work across both Parts and Service departments.
  • Comfortable using dealership software and computer systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Genuine passion for boating, fishing, watersports, or lake life.
  • Experience in marine, automotive, RV, powersports, agriculture, heavy equipment, or a related industry.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is highly valued: Marine parts, Marine service, Boat ownership or active boating lifestyle, Marina operations, Boat maintenance, Winterization and seasonal storage, Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, or other marine engine brands, Automotive dealerships, RV dealerships, Powersports dealerships, Heavy equipment dealerships, Agricultural equipment dealerships, Warranty administration, Inventory management, Lightspeed EVO, Outlook, Excel, or SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding repairs, maintenance, diagnostics, winterization, storage, commissioning, and seasonal service.
  • Write accurate repair orders and service estimates.
  • Schedule service work and coordinate technician workflow.
  • Communicate repair recommendations, timelines, and service updates to customers.
  • Assist with warranty administration and service documentation.
  • Follow up with customers after service to ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Assist customers in identifying the correct marine parts, accessories, and replacement components.
  • Recommend products and accessories that enhance the boating experience.
  • Support technicians by coordinating parts requests and special orders.
  • Receive, stock, organize, and maintain inventory.
  • Process customer orders, returns, and warranty parts.
  • Help maintain an organized and professional parts department.
  • Build lasting relationships with customers and fellow boating enthusiasts.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience from start to finish.
  • Utilize Lightspeed EVO and dealership software to document customer interactions.
  • Work closely with experienced Parts and Service team members to support daily operations.
  • Support dealership goals related to customer satisfaction, efficiency, profitability, and teamwork.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and customer-focused culture.
