About The Position

Milwaukee Valve Company is seeking a 2nd Shift Marine Junior Assembler to join their team in Prairie Du Sac, WI. This position offers a starting hourly wage of $20.58 with a 3.5% shift premium and is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, payable in two installments after successful completion of the orientation period and one year of employment. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check. The regularly scheduled hours are 2:30 PM-11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for required overtime, including Saturdays. Established in 1901, Milwaukee Valve manufactures valves for various industries, including Marine, and has supplied products for U.S. Navy ships for the last 50 years. The Marine Junior Assembler will be responsible for learning the process of assembling and operating assembly machines, aiding in the fabrication of various size and types of valves using tools and fixtures, and occasional material handling and stocking of components.

  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations

Responsibilities

  • Learn the operation of hand or bench type power tools.
  • Learn the operation of air and hydro testers.
  • Learn how to read and interpret instructions on test reports.
  • Application of sealants, greases and thread locker as called out on test reports.
  • Learn to disassemble and repair product.
  • Minor material handling and stocking required.
  • Use of hoist and other lifting equipment.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
  • Must be able to perform fore-mentioned duties with varying product types.
  • Work is subject to final inspection.
