About The Position

The Marine Forklift Driver operates forklifts with a capacity of 25,000 pounds or more to safely launch, retrieve, and store boats up to 40 feet long in a rack storage building up to 45 feet high. The role also involves safely fueling and moving customers’ boats around the marina and operating boats to and from the launch dock. The driver communicates with coworkers and customers and works in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience driving industrial vehicles, preferably forklifts.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
Current forklift operator certification in accordance with OSHA standards.
Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and attention to detail.
Excellent physical condition and ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform tasks requiring good hand-eye-foot coordination and balance.
Ability to assess and judge weights, distances, and heights.
Ability to work in varying temperatures according to seasonal weather variations.

Responsibilities

Launch and retrieve boats and move them to assigned locations.
Complete and maintain current safety training as required.
Identify and report damage.
Safely operate customer boats to and from the launch dock.
Safely fuel and move customers’ boats around the marina.
Inspect machinery, perform regular maintenance such as recharging batteries and lubricating equipment, and identify repair needs.
Maintain current records of boat moves and activity logs.
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
Help ensure a safe, efficient, and injury-free working environment.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
