About The Position

The Forklift Driver (also referred to as Forklift Operator/Freezer Loader) moves palletized products from the production line into the freezer or trailers using a stand-up forklift. The role requires patience, attention to detail, training, and hands-on experience. The employee also performs packaging-area support, pallet and product checks, recordkeeping, cleaning, and other assigned tasks. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5 AM to 5 PM.

Requirements

Experience operating a stand-up forklift is required.
Patience and a sincere desire to learn the position.
Ability to work in an area with dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, above-normal noise levels, and heights.
Ability to work irregular hours or periodic overtime.

Nice To Haves

Warehouse experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Use a stand-up forklift to move pallets of product from the line to the freezer or trailer.
Transfer strapped or wrapped palletized product into the freezer safely, promptly, and in proper product rotation.
Monitor palletized product for rewraps or damaged packages.
Keep the palletizer magazine supplied with the correct pallets, without blocking or placing pallets in the white-painted inspection aisles.
Monitor pallet condition; remove damaged or broken pallets from service for repair or disposal and record them on the Damaged Pallet Log.
Remove and empty scrap product containers from the packaging area.
Keep pallet tags in numerical order and turn in leftover tags to a supervisor at the end of the shift.
With assistance from the Packaging Utility employee, maintain general cleanliness of the monitor/palletizer area.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and fully.
Observe and comply with posted GMPs.
Perform additional duties and tasks assigned by management.
Maintain attention to detail and keep non-work-related conversations to a minimum.
Ask the supervisor for duties during prolonged downtime.
Help dump modules.
