About The Position

Forklift Operator I moves materials from inventory to production and back to inventory, maintaining required paperwork and production records. The role supplies production departments with inventory materials according to the production schedule and supports production needs, including bottlenecks. It also involves moving, packing, labeling, and storing finished goods; keeping inventory areas organized and clean; performing general preventive equipment maintenance; and following company forklift and safety policies.

Requirements

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete the Forklift Driver licensing process.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED (preferred, not required).
• Forklift driving experience (preferred; no minimum experience is required).
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another when necessary.
• Band, wrap, and/or pack finished goods and label material.
• Move finished goods from the production area to the finished goods inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklists and report problems or concerns.
• Keep rough material and finished goods inventory yards organized and clean.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and policies described by company policy.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
