About The Position

The Marine Field Service Technician is a customer-facing role that requires a high degree of expertise and the ability to work independently. Marine Field Service Technicians also receive specialized and targeted training in troubleshooting, technical procedures, and safety. Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience diagnosing, testing and repairing marine application engines on pleasure and/or commercial crafts.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.
• Ability to work independently and can complete work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills; detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Proven customer service skills, able to work with a diverse customer base and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.

• Use troubleshooting techniques to diagnose problem/ cause of failure.
• Remove/ disassemble and assemble/install components and parts.
• Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Test, measure, and adjust engine and machine systems and components.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams to successfully complete tasks.
• Determine reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines.
• Order replacement parts ensuring that orders are correct and complete.
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain engines, generaors and components.
• Test, measure and adjust engine and power system components
• Prepare, inspect and operate machines prior to delivery.
• Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
• Prepare inspection and appraisal reports, complete accurate service reports and other necessary reports and forms.
