About The Position
Q.E.D. SYSTEMS, INC., a local marine engineering firm, has an immediate full-time opening for a recent U.S. Maritime Academy Marine Engineer. The role provides U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) system support and alteration services. The candidate must have a basic understanding of U.S. Navy HM&E, electronics, combat, or marine systems and must currently possess or be able to obtain at least a Secret Government security clearance. Travel of up to 20% is required. Drug screening is required before hiring.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems, electronics systems, combat systems, or marine systems.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Marine, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering degree from a U.S. Maritime Academy.
- Currently possess or be able to obtain at least a Secret Government security clearance.
- Pass drug screening before hiring.
Nice To Haves
- U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential.
Responsibilities
- Support Navy system redesign and shipboard alterations and installations.
- Support Navy fleet support and in-service engineering.
- Conduct Navy vessel ship checks.
- Travel up to 20% of the time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
