About The Position

Propulsion Controls Engineering has an opening for a Marine Electrician Journeyman I - V, with a minimum of six years ship repair experience; supporting our San Diego, CA location. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
  • Minimum 6 years of marine and/or shipyard experience.
  • Ability to obtain / maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance.
  • Eligible to obtain base access clearance, which includes passing a background check and presenting valid government-issued identification.
  • Acceptable ID must be REAL ID-compliant or an approved form of federal identification, such as a valid U.S. passport.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or Technical Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and connect equipment for all electrical services on the ship without Supervision.
  • Lay out, pull, lift and install cables and conduits without Supervision.
  • Prepare work area, drill holes, grind metal surfaces, and mount equipment with minimal Supervision.
  • Test electrical equipment in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Items without Supervision.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
