GDIT is seeking a Marine Electrician to support the SACSS program in Seattle, Washington. This is an onsite position. The role involves repairing, installing, replacing, and testing electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors. The electrician will use hand tools and testing equipment to inspect and test electrical systems, isolate defects, and replace faulty components. Work may involve dismantling electrical machinery and replacing defective electrical or mechanical parts. The position requires working from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Participation in special projects is also expected. The role requires the ability to obtain necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard) and work in various challenging environments including confined spaces, extreme temperatures, aboard ships, and in shipyards. The job also involves lifting and carrying heavy equipment up to 75 lbs and may require travel for up to 20% of the time.
