About The Position

This position will assist with the FGHS Marching Band/Color Guard. The staff member will abide by the Forest Grove Staff Handbook and provide instruction to band and guard members, including general instruction of visual and music. They will stay advised of the Director's goals and agendas to meet timelines and deadlines for student learning. Communication regarding rehearsal needs, attendance, and absence with the Director is crucial. The role involves creating a healthy and productive learning environment for students, as well as a healthy environment for staff and parents to invest.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Stand/Walk 6-8 hours in an eight-hour day
• Use hands for repetitive single grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation
• Bend Frequently
• Squat Frequently
• Lift Frequently
• Medium Work: Lifting 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently with occasional sitting and frequent standing/walking.

• Provide instruction to band & guard members
• Assist with general instruction of visual and music instruction of members
• Stay advised of Director's goals and agendas as to stick with timelines and deadlines for all materials to be produced and learned by students
• Communicate rehearsal needs with the Director in advance of rehearsals
• Communicate about rehearsal attendance and absence with Director early, and often
• Create a healthy and productive learning environment for students
• Create a healthy environment for staff and parents to invest
