About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a Maps Quality Tester to contribute to finished products released in target markets around the globe, working at a leading consumer technology company. The tester will work closely with the development team to help ensure the client organization ships a high-quality application. The role requires quickly understanding complex matters and turning them into clear, concise reports. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, quick learner, self-starter, and effective communicator who can deliver results in a fast-paced environment. The position is remote from Austin, Texas, with a shift from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM CST. It is a 12-month contract with possible extension and pays $23 per hour.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of maps and web-based mapping products.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Experience working with data and spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with mobile navigation devices and applications such as Apple Maps and Google Maps.
• Creative thinking and ability to understand the product from the user's perspective.
• Organized and self-sufficient, with the ability to work remotely without direct supervision.
• Ability to explain technical details in clear and concise reports.
• Must be based in Austin, Texas.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in using iOS and macOS (desirable).
• A bachelor's degree or higher is preferred, particularly in Geography, Cartography, or a related field.
• GIS background or previous maps experience.
• Cycling experience that includes tracking performance across different routes.
