Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree (Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment required, 7+ years preferred.
  • 3 years of people leading experience required, 5+ years preferred.
  • 3+ years of proven ability in a similar role.
  • Ability to work as part of a team / Teambuilding.
  • Independent thinking / Self-driven decision-making ability.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral/written communication.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality systems.
  • Financial competence, including understanding how to implement a financial budget including product costs, waste triggers, and standard cost.
  • Logistics & planning knowledge.
  • Safety & ergonomics expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the achievement of key strategic, operational, and functional goals.
  • Develop and mentor the manufacturing unit to empower results focused on production, associate capability development, and ownership.
  • Coordinate and drive all activities within the manufacturing unit and set priorities.
  • Responsible for developing and leading the manufacturing unit's budget and headcount levels.
  • Coordinate the establishment and communication of challenging SQDC goals.
  • Translate manufacturing unit targets into lines/areas/workplaces and ensure that each associate understands what is expected from them with documented individual, specific, and measurable targets.
  • Initiate and champion change to ensure that short and long-term SQDC goals for the lines/areas under responsibility are being met.
  • Resolve issues in the line and for the manufacturing unit in a timely manner while displaying servant leadership.
  • Develop the team in unison with BD values.
  • Run the TMS cycle for the lines/areas and set the 24-hour direction for the manufacturing unit.
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews of the team and ensure every individual has an active development plan in place; conduct regular 1:1s with each team member to review performance and help them grow.
  • Lead DTM activities and be responsible for creating DTM work processes (e.g., CIL, CL, etc.).
  • Facilitate BD Excellence implementation within the manufacturing unit.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to establish production schedules, monitor delivery performance versus schedule.
  • Ensure regular, timely, and accurate assessments of hourly associates are delivered through mentor activities.
  • Work with associates to resolve issues and concerns; involve HR when needed.
  • Build mastery in operations, people management, and BD Excellence.
  • Spend more than 50% of the time on the production floor overseeing activities within the manufacturing unit.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and standard processes, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance.
