The Manufacturing Unit Leader (MUL) is responsible for achieving the performance plan goals of a designated manufacturing unit, guiding the development and attainment of Kingston Works' business objectives. This role leads a cross-functional team to deliver results on targeted Vision 3x30 goals within their manufacturing unit. Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technical or manufacturing field
- Experience in leading organizational changes.
- Familiarity with principles of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others
- Experience leading, motivating and developing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple and changing priorities and make decisions using independent judgment under time constraints.
Responsibilities
- Ensure EHS policies and procedures are aligned with the Novelis Safety System and 6S principles and adhered to enable attainment of safety objectives.
- Develop, implement, and audit the effectiveness and compliance to control plans, standard operating procedures and failure modes and effects analysis to maximize gross & length recovery on all products run across the manufacturing unit.
- Under the direction of the PPQ Leader, monitor all whole unit losses and claims generated/booked at the manufacturing unit and leads all interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve.
- Meet or exceed quality and service requirements of customers.
- Support value stream customer satisfaction and on-time, in-full objectives in all activities across the manufacturing unit.
- Be the primary point of contact for all manufacturing unit unplanned downtime events with accountability to reduce unplanned downtime events and their duration.
- Sponsor, lead and/or direct all capital (and expense) activities at the manufacturing unit focused on capacity and productivity improvements to meet the site strategic business plan.
- Meet annual and monthly budget guidelines and reporting status on a monthly basis.
- Encourage and support employee involvement and development.
- Coach team members in developing problem-solving, decision-making and team skills.
