About The Position

The Production Flow Coordinator (PFC) is responsible for managing and driving the daily production output of an assigned manufacturing area. This role plans, coordinates, and prioritizes production activities to ensure schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The coordinator works closely with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues, remove obstacles, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position is directly accountable for achieving daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual production targets. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment for all employees.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to execute Lean/6S projects in Assembly with a clear understanding of the requirements of their assigned area.
3-5 years’ experience in leading assembly manufacturing teams.
Proven ability to work independently with self-motivation to improve production, lean and employee management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strengths in training assembly line workers.
Must always be approachable and professional in communications.
Prior experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Must have Microsoft Office experience and the ability to operate a desktop computer.
Specifically, data entry in Word and Excel.
Must have the ability to learn software applications in a quick and efficient manner.

Advanced manufacturing or technical training.
Associates degree in applicable field.
Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Manage and drive daily production output of an assigned manufacturing area.
Plan, coordinate, and prioritize production activities to ensure schedules are met.
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues, remove obstacles, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual production targets.
Inspect work for quality, recognize flaws in components, and properly report problems.
Instill and maintain a positive team atmosphere within the assigned area.
Hold regular team meetings, assign team members’ tasks, and coordinate support group services.
Provide a positive culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Ensure all quality escapes are managed by the QMS and follow through on all corrective actions.
Plan and maintain the heijunka box daily, ensuring production is on time.
Responsible for organization and accurate count of components on hand.
Assume ownership of daily 6S and create a culture of “clean as you go”.
Reinforce and utilize Lean manufacturing principles, coach, mentor, and train employees in their use.
Responsible for the maintenance log and hi pot tester, ensuring maintenance procedures and torque testing requirements are followed.
Verify training certificates are completed and employees are receiving required training.
Apply company policy in a positive and respectful manner.
Clearly communicate expectations and challenges of the day’s production run to all assembly employees.
Report on prior day production run statistics and address concerns for the current production run.
Update required productivity data and KPI boards.
Work directly with production management and Human Resources on all employee relations issues.
Enforce company policy concerning employee attendance and keep accurate records.
Approve all PTO requests for direct reports.
Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and selection process.
Provide a warm welcome to GPI for all new employees.
Supervise assembly employees assigned within their area.
