About The Position

VICTAULIC is looking for a Manufacturing Trainer to join their team in West Jordan, Utah. This role requires someone with instructional expertise to manage the full training lifecycle for the production workforce. Responsibilities include assessing skill gaps, designing and delivering hands-on training for welders and machine operators, and collaborating with instructional designers to create documentation and learning materials. The trainer will work directly with employees to develop competencies in welding processes (GMAW-P, GTAW, carbon and stainless), machinery operation, and coating, while also contributing to SOPs and visual job aids for long-term workforce development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and be self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows/Office Suite, with the ability to build clear training materials and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of arc welding processes for carbon, stainless, and alloy metals, plus familiarity with liquid and powder coatings.
  • Familiarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards, and AWS/ASME welding codes.
  • Strong shop math and blueprint-reading skills, robotic welding/programming experience, and solid problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate employees and identify weaknesses in production skills.
  • Identify and conduct training tailored to individual skill levels.
  • Work directly with shop employees to build new skills across the manufacturing process, including coating.
  • Present technical data and training requirements through PowerPoint presentations and short videos.
  • Encourage employees toward training and identify potential candidates for progression.
  • Track employee success and progress throughout training.
  • Support the rollout and communication of all training programs on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions, measuring effectiveness based on success rate.
  • Train and help develop employees on the operation of specific machinery.
  • Train employees and maintain records for forklift and crane certifications.
  • Support the FEM/5S program as needed.
