About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician supports production on the Chop Shop and Power Coat lines in a fast-paced, high-technology manufacturing environment. The role involves reading and interpreting work orders, configuring and operating industrial saw equipment, cutting metal components to specified lengths, and inspecting output for defects. It also involves selecting, preparing, mixing, and applying powder coatings and chemicals to components using spray guns and other application equipment. The position requires basic math ability, accurate use of measurement tools, attention to detail, and the ability to work across all levels of the organization in a matrix structure. SI will train the right candidate.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of related or equivalent experience.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, and the ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and high-quality standards.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Ability to stand for long periods during a shift.
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial cutting equipment safely and efficiently throughout each shift.
• Configure machine stops and guides to the specified length for each job.
• Cut metal accurately to meet production specifications for each work order.
• Inspect output while operating the machine and identify and flag defects or quality issues.
• Apply powder coatings according to established principles and practices.
• Prepare and mix standard and other primers, paints, and coatings to the proper consistency and viscosity, matching colors and using thinners, solvents, additives, and agitators as required.
• Apply knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, washes, and pretreatments.
