About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician III, Instruments will be responsible for the assembly, integration of mechanical, fluidic, electronic, optical and electro-mechanical systems. He/she will deliver manufacturing requirements against production or project schedules within a focused manufacturing operation. The Manufacturing Technician III will conduct system integration testing and troubleshooting for all products in support of quality manufacturing production are typical day to day requirements. Work schedule may include alternate shifts. Product knowledge, documentation transfer, training and inert-departmental communication also required. Performing assigned tasks that utilize their interdisciplinary skills to perform integration troubleshooting and assigned service tasks. Specific product build knowledge for 40 to 60% of all assemblies currently produced in manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Associates degree in technical electronics/mechanical field required
  • 3+ Years Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment specific to troubleshooting and problem resolution practices. required
  • Product knowledge, documentation transfer, training and inert-departmental communication also required.
  • Performing assigned tasks that utilize their interdisciplinary skills to perform integration troubleshooting and assigned service tasks.
  • Specific product build knowledge for 40 to 60% of all assemblies currently produced in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Stages material for production as needed.
  • Coordinate with other technicians daily in support of integration testing, manual instruction development and production process development. All to support a quality process and product.
  • Hands-on assembly, test and troubleshooting of system builds and re-work.
  • Work from documented procedures and maintain quality data.
  • Deliver manufacturing requirements and attainment of production schedule.
  • Coordinate process and manual instruction updates.
  • Share knowledge and train co-workers and new employees.
  • Establish an effective working partnership with other Luminex departments to promote effective communication and transfer knowledge/experience to others.
  • Participate in applicable departmental and interdepartmental training
  • Maintain current and effective training to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and applicable changes affecting the Reagent Manufacturing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and integrity of manufacturing and storage areas.
  • Performs timely and accurate inventory cycle counts.; Performs timely and accurate inventory-based transactions in Oracle.
  • Maintain production builds as needed.
  • Utilize developed writing skills for process updates, including SOP creation.
  • Understand change control process and implement necessary changes.
  • Understand system configuration management and material procurement as a final finished good product.
  • Maintain personal compliance and facilitate departmental compliance with the Quality System.
  • Adhere to safety, disposal, and gowning requirements (gowning as required by area).
  • Test and troubleshoot systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
