About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking entry-level Manufacturing Techs to work in a high-performance team environment in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The position performs welding, machining, finishing, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly processes. Following manufacturing procedures, drawings, and Engineering instructions, the Manufacturing Tech II safely fabricates and assembles quality products on time and at the lowest achievable cost. The role also performs testing and completes documentation to confirm products meet requirements. Employees manage time effectively and work a flexible schedule. They may also take on team or plant roles such as Team Leader, Safety Representative, Quality Representative, Administrative Representative, Inventory Representative, Supplies/Bulk Material Representative, Preventive Maintenance Representative, or Manufacturing Procedure Representative.

The posted schedule is a first shift, four-day/10-hour schedule from Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Friday when needed. Pay is listed as $23.00 per hour. The posting also gives a full-time salary range of $38,956–$62,330, with individual salaries determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Safely fabricate and assemble products in accordance with manufacturing procedures, drawings, and Engineering instructions.
• Perform welding, machining, finishing, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly processes.
• Perform test procedures and complete documentation to ensure a conforming product is manufactured.
• Manage time effectively and work a flexible schedule.
• May serve in one or more team or plant roles, including Team Leader, Safety Representative, Quality Representative, Administrative Representative, Inventory Representative, Supplies/Bulk Material Representative, Preventive Maintenance Representative, or Manufacturing Procedure Representative.
• Work overtime on Fridays when needed.
