About The Position
BAE Systems is seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join its team in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In a high-performance work team environment, the Manufacturing Tech II performs welding, machining, finishing, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly processes, and writes and follows manufacturing and test procedures. The technician safely fabricates and assembles quality products in accordance with manufacturing procedures, drawings, and engineering instructions, meeting schedule and cost objectives. The position also involves performing test procedures and completing documentation to verify that products conform to requirements. The technician manages time effectively and works a flexible schedule. Team or plant role responsibilities may include team leadership, safety, quality, administration, inventory, supplies and bulk materials, preventive maintenance, or manufacturing procedures. First-shift positions are available. The stated schedule is four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Friday when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Self-motivation and ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
- Safely fabricate and assemble quality products according to manufacturing procedures, drawings, and engineering instructions.
- Meet production schedules and work toward the lowest achievable cost.
- Perform test procedures and complete documentation to ensure products conform to requirements.
- Write and follow manufacturing and test procedures.
- Manage time effectively and work a flexible schedule.
- May serve in a team or plant role such as Team Leader, Safety Representative, Quality Representative, Administrative Representative, Inventory Representative, Supplies/Bulk Material Representative, Preventive Maintenance Representative, or Manufacturing Procedure Representative.
- May perform welding, machining, ablative installation, painting, and mechanical and electrical assembly.
