The manufacturing team member operates the extruder machine after feeding the raw material into the main hopper. Pack parts shipping box accordingly and onto shipping pallets.

Requirements

• Problem solver.
• Team oriented.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Understanding of basic measuring techniques: camber, bow, squareness.
• Must pass reading comprehension and math test.
• Must pass physical exam, drug screen, alcohol screen and background check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and tend machines to saw and cut vinyl material.
• Install, change dies on machine according to production line changes.
• Assure that the machines have sufficient raw material.
• Monitor extruder temperature setups.
• Maintain line speed as requested.
• Form shipping boxes by hand.
• Inspect parts to assure that they are within specifications.
• Perform part adjustments as required.
• Collect, inspect and manually pack parts into the shipping box.
• Apply necessary part identification as required i.e. UPC labels, carton labels, etc.).
• Stamp boxes accordingly, prepare shipping pallets.
• Support maintenance mechanic during the cleaning and change-over (part set-ups).
• Troubleshoot, maintain and make minor repairs to equipment.
• Complete Production Report.
• Operate Grinder as needed.
• Work safe and follow all safety rules and operations manual.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
• Keep assigned work area clean and organized at all times.
• Understand safety devices and their functions.
• Actively participate in weekly safety meetings and monthly trainings.
• Notify management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing before operation.
• Understand all lockout and tagout procedures.
