About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Team Lead - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 1:45pm to 10:15pm. The hourly rate for this position is 42.44 per hour. This position will be responsible for assigning work, following schedule, work completed on schedule, resolving discrepancies, training employees, and troubleshooting with technicians. This individual will serve as the link between the production floor, Quality, and Engineering functions. The working lead will also assemble and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product lines that include but is not limited to commercial parts for customers such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus. The role involves working on electrical assemblies, soldering, and handling unusual work where standard or recognizable methods and processes may not be available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Ten (10) years minimum experience in aerospace assembly and testing of hydraulic or electromechanical control valves.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic test equipment.
  • One (1) year experience assisting and/or leading teams or initiatives.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to access export-controlled information.
  • Proficient in interpreting hydraulic and electrical blueprints, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
  • Working knowledge of shop, mechanical, and electrical test equipment and testing procedures.
  • Ability to test a variety of assemblies/sub-assemblies.
  • Know-how and ability to work with inspection gages, multimeters, force scales, torque wrenches, and production test equipment.
  • Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
  • Working knowledge of Eaton production units or similar electromechanical products.
  • Ability to retain knowledge of units produced.
  • Ability to cross-train on a variety of hardware/sub-assemblies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other departments and organizations.
  • Ability to accumulate and record data to support process improvement idea(s).
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Required computer skills for processing and analysis of data.
  • Ability to lead team meetings in process improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in set-up and use of XY plotter, oscilloscopes, and pressure transducer.
  • Solder certification.
  • Electric Static Discharge certification.
  • Experience working in FAA environment.
  • Tool design experience.
  • Previous experience leading teams or department.

Responsibilities

  • Assigning work, following schedule, and ensuring work is completed on time.
  • Resolving discrepancies and troubleshooting with technicians.
  • Serving as the link between the production floor, Quality, and Engineering functions.
  • Assembling and testing mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies.
  • Working on electrical assemblies and soldering.
  • Handling unusual work where standard or recognizable methods and processes may not be available.
  • Assisting operators as required.
  • Acting as a liaison between Assembly, Inspection, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, etc.
  • Applying technical skills for performance and production problem resolution of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical products and related components with relatively little guidance.
  • Assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and testing mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies, ensuring correct procedures and tooling are used.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to product non-conformance and performance test failures for hydraulic and electro-mechanical products.
  • Assisting in setting job priorities and determining workload requirements.
  • Training new operators, assemblers, and technicians.
  • Assisting in evaluating departmental personnel and identifying training needs.
  • Leading team meetings.
  • Setting a good example of employee conduct at all times.
  • Managing the overall workflow of the department.
  • Transacting completed work orders throughout inventory locations.
  • Assuming the role of supervisor in their absence, including running daily production reports and escalating issues.
  • Checking and escalating issues with calibration, assembly, and test equipment.
  • Driving and initiating process improvements within hardware and test equipment, including detection and isolation of performance discrepancies.
  • Acting as the department representative in Customer audits/visits.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
