About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Manufacturing Supervisor. This position supervises a team of production-level or hourly/direct employees in a unionized manufacturing environment. The role sets day-to-day activities within assigned manufacturing cell(s) that support the attainment of safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. The supervisor monitors performance and drives productivity and problem-solving through the CORE Management system. This role develops Team Leads and operators through effective coaching, communication, and training, and drives CORE implementation at the cell level in alignment with the Collins CORE operating system.

Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Usage of Microsoft, Excel, Power Point, SAP.
  • Experience in Aerospace industry.
  • Experience working with union employees.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cell-level manufacturing performance, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure that practices and procedures are followed by direct reports.
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the daily CORE Management System, including Visual Management Systems and Lead Standard Work.
  • Demonstrate clear focus on accountability to daily results, rapid identification of root cause, and effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • Drive development of a strong problem-solving culture through application of practical problem-solving tools and coaching behaviors.
  • Champion safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs within the manufacturing cell(s).
  • Coordinate activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of a cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Partner with planning to develop a schedule that meets cell production requirements utilizing On Time To Start and On Time To Finish to meet customer OTD.
  • Provide leadership coaching and development for team leads.
  • Develop and execute a clear training plan in alignment with the needs of the manufacturing cell and business.
  • Ensure timely execution of manufacturing transactions, including time approval, in SAP ERP system to ensure data accuracy.
  • Work with other areas to continuously improve data integrity.
