Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards.
  • Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.
  • Directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others, and mobilizing resources.
  • Monitoring and achievement of operational and/or financial results for their area of responsibility.
  • Performing people management actions such as hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees.
  • Coaching and addressing performance-related issues following progressive discipline for safety, quality, performance, training and attendance.
  • Supervising entry-level or semi-skilled hourly employees such as production, craft, and clerical workers.
  • Coordinating resources and setting daily priorities for the team to ensure task completion and operational objectives are met.
  • Monitoring daily operations of a unit or sub-unit.
  • Using judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
  • Applying operational business practices and coordinating with other closely related areas to improve efficiency.
  • Directing operations of work units.
  • Following all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Reporting to person of authority any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participating in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Following all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Reporting any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
