About The Position

Supervise and direct manufacturing personnel and resources to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of product while maintaining quality and safety standards. This role requires the ability to program and assist with programming for 4-axis mills, working closely with the programming department to ensure full utilization of resources. The supervisor will collaborate with Engineering and Quality to optimize methods for efficiency and quality improvement, and will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing training opportunities for department employees. Direct management of personnel includes performance reviews, pay increases, overtime and PTO authorization, and disciplinary actions. The supervisor will communicate production goals and operational priorities to shop floor teams, plan and direct daily duties, and manage resource allocation to meet production deadlines. They will also be responsible for department asset scheduling, planning adjustments, and proactive communication with various departments to prevent delays and quality issues. Availability for and management of daily shift turn-over, participation in recruiting, hiring, and training, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety training are also key responsibilities. The role demands ensuring a clean and safe work environment that meets medical device and OSHA standards, a full understanding of policies and procedures, and the ability to execute setup and/or operation of manufacturing equipment, including ensuring preventive maintenance and housekeeping standards are met. The supervisor is expected to lead by example and be accountable for their actions and those of their direct reports.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, motivation, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work in a highly dynamic and growing environment
  • Detail oriented with a high level of emphasis on accuracy and completeness
  • Must be familiar with and be able to read mechanical (machining) drawings and specifications.
  • Must have a solid grasp of manufacturing workflow and machining processes

  • Ensure that there is always a clean and safe work environment which meets medical device and OSHA standards.
  • Execute setup and/or operation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure equipment preventive maintenance and daily housekeeping standards are completed.
  • Lead by example; accountable for their actions and the actions of their direct reports.
