In this role as a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor at Medtronic’s Energy & Component Center (MECC), you will lead a high-performing production team responsible for delivering safe, high-quality medical device components that support life-saving therapies worldwide. MECC serves as a critical manufacturing hub, producing advanced energy-based technologies and precision components that power Medtronic’s global portfolio. As a frontline leader, you will drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement on the evening shift. Requirements

  • Requires 1+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication Skills.
  • Functional Skills: Machining and Manufacturing Technologies, Proficient computer skills, Data Science and Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and continued improvement, Managing Quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading large frontline manufacturing teams in a highly regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or similar high reliability industries)
  • Proven ability to ramp production capacity, including standing up new shifts, onboarding large assembler populations, and maintaining quality and engagement during rapid growth
  • Background supporting high-volume , high ‑ throughput production lines with strong focus on takt time, line balancing, and operational stability
  • Experience building scalable training and onboarding programs for frontline operators, including cross training and skill progression models
  • Certification or practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods focused on throughput, waste reduction, and process stability (Green Belt preferred)
  • Working knowledge of GMP/FDA requirements and quality system processes such as CAPA, NCR, and audit support in a high-volume manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated success developing frontline supervisors, trainers, and lead operators to support long-term operational growth and strong team culture

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
  • Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
  • Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
