About The Position

The Manufacturing Specialist will monitor the quality of the operation's output on a regular basis and make necessary adjustments to keep the operation and product within specification. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and basic maintenance activities, assisting maintenance mechanics during major repairs, overhauls, and set-ups to learn more complicated mechanical processes. The specialist will maintain a productivity level that ensures on-time delivery, participate actively in the Natural Work Team process, and ensure all safety precautions are being taken in the work area, keeping it neat and orderly. Following all established safety rules and procedures and reporting any safety hazards or issues immediately to a supervisor is crucial. The role requires working scheduled hours for the assigned shift plus overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Standing and moving about for 90% of the time.
  • Reaching, handling and fingering to fill hoppers, add material and making adjustments/repairs.
  • Frequent lifting, moving, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Near vision for making fine adjustments and detecting quality defects.
  • Far vision for operations of forklift or other mobile equipment.
  • Normal color vision and normal depth perception capability.
  • Climbing (ladders to fill hoppers), stooping, bending and kneeling (adjusting, checking quality, etc.).
  • High attentiveness for safety and detection of problems.
  • Reading and math comprehension to understand and interpret quality information (SPC, charts, graphs, etc.), and to complete production reporting.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team.
  • Flexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously.
  • Operation of hand tools, forklift and other mobile equipment.
  • Use of safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful, permanent resident; Refugee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1157; or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1158 or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
  • Must not be a person prohibited by the Gun Control Act from possessing firearms or ammunition.

  • Two-year Technical Degree in Manufacturing
  • Partial reimbursement for hard-toed safety shoes.
  • Respirator use (provided) for a very limited number of positions.
