About The Position

This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, with opportunities available on both day and night shifts. Employees work a rotating schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required by the production schedule. The role involves monitoring the quality of the operation's output, making necessary adjustments to keep the operation and product within specification, and performing preventative maintenance and basic maintenance activities. During major repairs, overhauls, and set-ups, the specialist will work with maintenance mechanics and other trade specialists to assist and learn more complicated mechanical processes. Maintaining a productivity level that ensures on-time delivery of the product to internal or external customers is crucial. The role also requires active participation in the Natural Work Team process, monitoring the work area for safety precautions, ensuring neatness and orderliness, and adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Reporting safety hazards or issues to a supervisor immediately is mandatory. Employees are expected to work scheduled hours plus overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Standing and moving about for 90% of the time.
  • Reaching, handling and fingering to fill hoppers, add material and making adjustments/repairs.
  • Frequent lifting, moving, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Near vision for making fine adjustments and detecting quality defects and far vision for operations of forklift or other mobile equipment.
  • Normal color vision and normal depth perception capability.
  • Climbing (ladders to fill hoppers), stooping, bending and kneeling (adjusting, checking quality, etc.).
  • High attentiveness for safety and detection of problems.
  • Reading and math comprehension to understand and interpret quality information (SPC, charts, graphs, etc.), and to complete production reporting.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team.
  • Flexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously.
  • Operation of hand tools, forklift and other mobile equipment.
  • Use of safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection.
  • U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful, permanent resident (a/k/a green card holder); Refugee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1157; or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1158 or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
  • Must not fall into the categories of persons prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition as defined by Gun Control Act Requirements.
