About The Position

The College of Engineering and Technology at Grand Canyon University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach part-time, face-to-face instruction at its Phoenix campus. Faculty are expected to be passionate about engaging and mentoring students, preparing them for the continuously changing worlds of IT and Engineering. They should be energetic advisors, committed to student academic, spiritual, and personal growth, and experts in their fields. The role involves teaching the 'Finding Success as a Manufacturing Specialist' course, which is designed to provide essential skills for thriving in the semiconductor industry. Topics covered in the course include pre-apprenticeship, career preparation, industry-specific skillsets, an overview of the semiconductor industry, key company leaders, emerging trends, business basics, financial literacy (loans, interest rates, cash flow), project management, and MS Office tools for efficient project planning and execution in new job roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 5-7 years of industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with 3-5 years of industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
