The College of Humanities and Social Sciences offers fulfilling opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach part-time, in-person courses at our Phoenix campus. GCU Traditional Campus - Phoenix, AZ: Instruction for our Fall Semester begins on September 8, 2026, and ends on December 20, 2026 – Final Course Grades are due on December 27, 2026 Course: College Mathematics The course covers mathematics that matter in modern society. Key areas of focus include financial literacy, numerically-based decision making, growth, scale, and numerical applications. The course applies basic college-level mathematics to real-life problems and is appropriate for students whose majors do not require college algebra or higher.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Mathematics OR Statistics OR Closely related field which requires calculus or above, or statistics coursework, such as Physics and Engineering
  • Candidates with a Master's degree in any discipline and 3-5 years of experience teaching high school or post-secondary applied mathematics may also be considered
  • Your unofficial transcripts for any applicable conferred graduate degrees

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Mathematics OR Statistics OR Closely related field with high school or post-secondary teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
