About The Position

Atkore is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Lead based in Houston, Texas. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person leads an assigned team and ensures duties are completed on schedule and according to specifications. The role is suited to someone with experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company. The position works the day shift, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at an estimated rate of $24.00 per hour. Within the first three months, the employee is expected to complete the Atkore immersion program, understand how the role supports Atkore’s strategy, get to know the team, and learn the training materials and procedures the team owns.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good understanding of basic math for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
Initiative.
Adaptability to changes in the work environment and the ability to manage competing demands and frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events calmly and logically.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

Ensure products are completed according to the production schedule.
Confirm products meet specifications and that all required quality tests are performed.
Review operator paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
Inspect the integrity and performance of production systems.
Recruit, train, and develop crew members.
Optimize the utilization of employees and equipment.
Understand computerized systems associated with the technologies used at the facility.
Improve production efficiency by developing a culture of continuous improvement.
Promote a safe working environment and enforce safety rules and procedures.
