About The Position

This is a temporary-to-hire, onsite position with a duration of six months. The role involves completing day-to-day cleaning and sanitation tasks within a manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing production machinery, equipment, and the facility, handling chemicals safely, managing waste disposal, documenting activities, and troubleshooting sanitation issues. The position requires adherence to safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP), HACCP, and FQP. The worker will also be responsible for maintaining a clean facility and participating in required training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma required.
  • No prior experience or training required.
  • Ability to read and interpret a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform operations using standard units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of mechanical functioning and cause and effect.

Responsibilities

  • Complete day to day cleaning and sanitation work duties.
  • Clean and sanitize all production machinery and equipment throughout the plant, including conveyor belts, screens, filters, kettles, pipes, walls, totes, sanding/oiling drums, and tables.
  • Perform facility housekeeping, including the plant exterior.
  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed.
  • Handle chemicals used in cleaning and sanitation by following safety precautions.
  • Complete the removal and disposal of waste and recycling in an effective manner.
  • Document cleaning and sanitation activities records.
  • Prioritize cleaning and sanitation duties to support production needs.
  • Use ATP bioluminescence device to verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot the root cause of cleaning and sanitation failures and work on problem-solving.
  • Observe and follow safety procedures.
  • Observe and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP), Food Safety Plan (HACCP), and Food Quality Plan (FQP).
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining the facility and equipment in a clean and sanitary state.
  • Participate in all necessary training required to successfully perform job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
