About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and the plant environment. The successful candidate will only use safe methods and practices. The area of impact includes the plant, plant grounds, and surrounding areas as assigned. Alpha Baking Company, Inc., a national distributor of breads, rolls and buns, as well as sweet goods, was founded in 1979. Headquartered in Chicago, Alpha Baking has three production plants in Illinois and others in Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Alpha Baking’s retail brands include S. Rosen’s, MaryAnn, Natural Ovens Bakery, Kreamo, and Golden Hearth, with additional product sold under private label agreements and the Alpha Baking foodservice brand. Our broad array of products can be found in national restaurant chains, quick service restaurants, schools, institutions, major league sports franchises, national grocery chains and independent grocery stores.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Entry level experience

Knowledge of sanitation master schedule
Knowledge of pest control
Knowledge of production line operating equipment
Knowledge of equipment assembly
Knowledge of chemicals, chemical color coding system and chemical handling
Knowledge of how to read MSDS

Responsibilities

Knowledge of sanitation master schedule
Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment (ovens, mixers, etc.)
Clean and sanitize baking equipment including bins, trays, etc.
Operate floor scrubber to clean concrete flooring
Sweep and mop work areas
Perform housekeeping duties including, restrooms, lunchroom, offices, conference room, etc.
Discard all corrugated, inedible food and other packing material
Knowledge of pest control
Operate a trash compactor
Read a weight scale
Operate a baler
Knowledge of production line operating equipment
Knowledge of equipment assembly
Knowledge of chemicals, chemical color coding system and chemical handling
Knowledge of how to read MSDS
Commit to a continuous improvement work team environment.
Other duties and/or projects assigned.
