About The Position

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer designs and implements robust quality controls with growing independence. Leads routine root-cause/corrective actions (RCCA), conducts capability and validation studies, collaborates with production to drive efficiency and product quality, and supports PPAP/NPA readiness. The Shakopee plant is the largest non-engine supplier to Toro with 125,000 square feet of production facility. The Toro Company is a leading worldwide provider of innovative solutions for the outdoor environment, including turf, snow and ground-engaging equipment, and irrigation and outdoor lighting solutions. This location produces professional and residential component products. Employees at this modern facility provide precise cutting products, machine components, tooled stampings, and metal fabrication for assembly at other TTC manufacturing facilities. For over 100 years, our ideas have transformed the way professionals and homeowners care for their outdoors, including many leading sports venues and historic sites around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Leadership, influence, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while resolving complex, ambiguous problems.
  • The role requires a combination of technical proficiency, strong communication skills, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting technical issues; familiarity with relevant equipment, technologies, and tools.
  • Experience using MS office suite and collaborating with engineers and shop employees.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret customer prints and effectively communicate with relevant departments.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to use data, experience, and collaboration skills to make informed decisions decisively.

Nice To Haves

  • 0–2 years of experience in metal manufacturing (Quality Engineer I)
  • 2–4 years of experience in metal manufacturing (Quality Engineer II)
  • 4–7 (+) years of experience in metal manufacturing (Quality Engineer III)

Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain control plans/inspection plans; lead gauge R&R/MSA; perform capability and stability analyses.
  • Plan/execute DV/PV process validations and sampling plans; create verification protocols/reports.
  • Lead RCCA & corrective actions (8D/A3), nonconformance disposition, and effectiveness checks.
  • Update PFMEA, link controls to failure mode; prepare/compile PPAP evidence for submission.
  • Coach technicians/operators on best practices; partner with Manufacturing/Quality/Design on DFM/DFA and change control.
  • Prepare clear reports and present risk/status to stakeholders.
