About The Position

The Copeland Internship Program offers a 3-4 month paid learning experience where interns gain real-world experience while contributing to innovative, sustainable solutions. Interns are immersed in meaningful work, supported by expert mentors, and empowered to explore their potential across multiple areas of the business. The program includes opportunities to connect with other interns and engage with leaders, fostering personal and professional growth through hands-on projects. The role involves working in an assembly production environment to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and key performance indicators, collaborating with various departments such as manufacturing engineering, product engineering, quality, and safety. Tasks include troubleshooting equipment, designing process improvements, and maintaining document control, with opportunities to gain experience in GD&T, print reading, CMM usage, and various software programs.

Requirements

Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Ability to work full-time during the Spring Term - May 26, 2026 - August 14, 2026.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in team-oriented environment.
Willingness to learn and take initiative in fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
Strong computer skills using programs such as Microsoft Office.
Must be able to physically be able to be on their feet the majority of the day and move up and down stairs.

Nice To Haves

CAD software experience is beneficial.
Mechanical skills are beneficial.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
Experience or coursework with CAD software (NX).

Responsibilities

Partner with manufacturing engineers to support production lines, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure optimal machine performance and uptime.
Assist in the design, development, and implementation of tooling for both existing production equipment and new machinery.
Utilize CAD software, including NX, to create and modify part designs, tooling, and fixtures.
Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to address production concerns, improve processes, and maintain product standards.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Support new equipment launches, including setup, validation, and process development.
Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and accomplishments during weekly meetings with the engineering manager.
