About The Position

Specialty Appliances Orthodontic Lab makes custom-fit, handmade orthodontic appliances according to orthodontists’ prescriptions. The role involves hands-on production work, with on-the-job training provided for candidates without prior experience. Team members may work as wire benders, finishers, or laser welders, making appliances intended to improve patients’ quality of life.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or current enrollment in school.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Positive attitude.
• Enjoys working with hands and has a desire to learn.
• Reliable attendance.
• Attention to detail and pride in work.
• Strong desire to succeed.
• Enjoys repetitive tasks.
• Good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Make orthodontic appliances by hand according to the production process.
• Use hand tools and/or small equipment.
• Collect and deliver assigned cases to and from shelves.
• Perform steady hand and arm movements.
• Bend wires with pliers to match the positioning of teeth (wire benders).
• Polish stainless steel orthodontic appliances (finishers).
• Join appliance components using a laser-welding machine with scopes (laser welders).
