Manufacturing Production Adjuster (Night Shift)

The Manufacturing Production Adjuster supports production by maintaining safe and efficient machine operation, troubleshooting mechanical issues, assisting with preventive maintenance, and helping operators resolve machine problems. The role may backfill for the production supervisor, operate any machine when necessary, and coach or train operators. The schedule is four days on and four days off, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., for a 48-hour week. Pay is $34 per hour plus a $1 night-shift differential.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Have adequate tools to work on machinery.
- Ability to stand continuously for a 12-hour shift.
- Willingness to work some Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to adhere to company policies, safety rules, and regulations, and wear personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and enforce safety rules and lockout procedures.
- Ensure understanding of and adherence to product quality metrics.
- Ensure machine guards are in place and functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot and repair most mechanical breakdowns and make adjustments.
- Assist with or lead preventive maintenance as needed.
- Backfill for the production supervisor as needed.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve daily production rates while reducing waste.
- Check and enforce daily equipment lubrication.
- Provide first aid or assistance when needed.
- Assist operators when a machine is down to minimize waste and downtime.
- Keep personnel busy while a machine is down.
- Operate any machine when necessary.
- Continuously improve skills.
- Coach operators on tasks within their skillsets and expectations.
- Assist with training by working closely with operators during machine issues or maintenance.
