About The Position

The Manufacturing Process Technician is responsible for maintaining robotic paint processes within the Paint department. This role involves ensuring procedures and equipment are optimized for efficiency and first-time yield capability, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with the Paint Supervisor and Process Engineer on process and engineering changes. The technician will also participate in the development, implementation, and follow-up of Corrective Action Plans for quality issues, and evaluate/improve techniques to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Documentation of all activities is required, along with maintaining compliance with company guidelines, union contracts, TS16949, ISO14001, and relevant government regulations. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management. The role includes performing robot adjustments to improve part quality and conducting preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs on robots and the paint system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment that offered the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background in injection molding.
  • Knowledge of customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture.
  • Knowledge of paint processes and tooling, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of paint viscosity in relationship to paint reduction with different types of reducing solvents.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production.
  • Skills in using computers, preferably in a G.U.I. or PC, Windows-based operating environment.
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skills in supporting management in implementing short and long-term goals.
  • Skills to track production OEE through measuring first time quality, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Skills to determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Ability to maintain processes, systems, and procedures within the paint department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in written.
  • Ability to maintain systems necessary to collect, to maintain, and analyze data.
  • Ability to identify problems, and help implement solutions.
  • Ability to maintain processes that meet production targets and customer quality requirements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn/gain knowledge.
