About The Position

Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. The role uses Lean principles to improve manufacturing efficiency and drive continual improvement; plans workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layouts; and provides production time, staffing, and cost estimates to support management decisions.

The engineer communicates manufacturing capabilities and production schedules, works with vendors on product specifications and purchasing, and project-manages technical upgrades, equipment installation, and tooling design and implementation. The role also supports contract reviews for significant projects, evaluates products against specifications and quality standards, gathers data on manufacturing procedure effectiveness, and ensures health and safety reviews are completed for new or altered equipment. Travel may be required as appropriate for business needs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Proficient technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience with repetitive and build-to-suit manufacturing methodologies.
• Experience managing large and complex projects using industry tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with high competency in Excel.
• Strong analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Participate in travel as appropriate for business needs.
